Anonymous Proxies for Private and Stable Connections

An anonymous proxy is a server that forwards your requests using its own IP address, so destination websites do not receive your original IP as the connection source.

NodeMaven anonymous proxies use residential, mobile, and ISP IPs for private, stable connections across different workflows.

An anonymous proxy sits between your device and the destination website. It receives your request, sends it from a proxy IP, and returns the response to you.

The destination sees the proxy IP rather than your original IP. Your internet provider or network administrator may still be able to see that you connect to a proxy, depending on the protocol and setup.

Use our free proxy checker to confirm that the proxy connects and measure its status, transfer time, and bandwidth usage. Then run the WebRTC leak test to check whether your browser exposes another public, local, or IPv6 address, and use the DNS leak test to see whether DNS requests bypass the proxy and reach your ISP.

These tools assess proxy health and potential IP or DNS leaks. To verify high-anonymity behavior, inspect the request headers separately and confirm that headers such as X-Forwarded-For, Via, Forwarded, and Client-IP are absent.

NodeMaven proxies hide the original client IP. In curl request inspection, tested connections also did not include X-Forwarded-For, Via, Forwarded, or Client-IP.

Because the request neither exposed the client IP nor announced forwarding through these common headers, it matched high-anonymity, or elite-proxy, behavior at the HTTP-header level. The destination still sees the NodeMaven proxy IP.

An anonymous proxy hides the original client IP from the destination. A transparent proxy may pass the client IP or add headers that reveal the request was forwarded through a proxy.

High-anonymity, or elite, proxies also avoid common proxy-identifying headers, making the forwarded request look more like a direct connection at the HTTP-header level.

Common proxy-disclosure headers include:

• X-Forwarded-For
• Via
• Forwarded
• Client-IP

NodeMaven’s tested proxy requests did not include these headers.

An anonymous proxy routes traffic for the browser, application, or tool configured to use it. A VPN normally routes and encrypts traffic for the entire device through a VPN tunnel.

Choose a proxy when you need granular IP rotation, location targeting, or separate sessions. Choose a VPN when device-wide traffic encryption is the main requirement.

NodeMaven offers three proxy types:

• Residential proxies - rotating or sticky IPs assigned by consumer internet providers
• Mobile proxies - IPs associated with mobile networks for mobile-first platforms
• ISP proxies - static ISP-issued IPs for faster, long-running sessions

Choose a proxy type and location, generate credentials in the NodeMaven dashboard, and add the hostname, port, username, and password to your browser, application, or HTTP client.

After connecting, send a request to an IP or HTTP-header inspection endpoint. Confirm that the visible IP is the proxy IP and check that the response does not show your original IP or proxy-disclosure headers.
