12 Best Google Search Scrapers and SERP APIs (2026)

Scraping Google got harder and more expensive over the past two years. Google now needs JavaScript to show results. It dropped the num=100 parameter, so one keyword can now cost up to 10 requests. AI Overviews sit on top of many results pages, and older scrapers miss them completely.
So the best Google search scraper in 2026 is not the one with the longest feature list. It is the one that returns correct data at a cost you can predict.
We compared 12 Google search scrapers and SERP APIs. The list covers an open-source scraper you run yourself, hosted APIs and no-code tools. For each one you get pricing, the real cost per 1,000 searches, strengths, weak spots and who it fits best.

What changed in Google scraping in 2026
If you read an older list of the best Google search scrapers, most of its advice no longer holds. Four changes reshaped the market. They also explain the best ways to scrape Google search results in 2026.
Google search now needs JavaScript
On January 15, 2025, Google started requiring JavaScript to show search results. Google said the change helps protect its services from bots and spam. Simple HTTP scrapers broke overnight. Many rank trackers had lags and outages for days.
Today a scraper needs a real browser, or it needs cookies from a browser that already passed Google’s checks. Plain requests with a random user agent fail fast.
Google removed num=100
In September 2025, Google stopped honoring the num=100 parameter. Before, one request could return 100 results. Now each request returns about 10. Tracking the top 100 for one keyword takes 10 requests instead of one.
This is why cost per page matters more than cost per plan. A tool that looks cheap per request can turn expensive once you multiply by 10.
AI Overviews are part of the SERP
AI Overviews now appear above organic results for many queries. They load asynchronously, so a scraper has to render the page to catch them. If you track brand visibility or SEO performance, a scraper that ignores AI Overviews gives you half the picture.
Google sued a SERP API provider
In December 2025, Google sued SerpApi over scraping its results. In July 2026, a federal judge dismissed the claims about plain search results. Google filed an amended complaint in August 2026. We cover what this means in the legal section below.
How we compared these Google search scrapers
We scored every tool on six criteria:
- Cost per 1,000 result pages. Not the plan price. The price for the data you actually get after num=100.
- SERP feature coverage. Organic results, ads, People Also Ask, related searches, AI Overviews and local results.
- Block handling. What happens when Google answers with a CAPTCHA, a refusal or results for the wrong query.
- Ease of setup. Time from sign-up to the first clean result.
- Output and integrations. JSON, CSV, APIs, schedules and support for AI agents.
- Pricing transparency. Whether you can predict the bill before you run the job.
For NodeMaven Google Search Scraper we also used our own test data. That includes our study of about 5,000 Google searches and the public proxy-benchmark репозиторий.
Types of Google search scrapers
Before you pick a tool, pick a type. Each one trades cost against control and effort.
| Self-hosted scraper | Hosted SERP API | No-code tool | |
| Coding needed | Basic Python or command line | API calls in any language | Нет |
| Cost at scale | Lowest, you pay for proxy traffic | Low to high, per request | Средний или высокий |
| Control | Full. Your code, your data, your proxies | Limited to the API options | Limited to the tool settings |
| Обслуживание | You update the tool | Vendor handles it | Vendor handles it |
| Лучшее для | Developers, AI agents, steady volume | Products that need an SLA | Marketers and one-off research |
The 12 best Google search scrapers in 2026
1. NodeMaven Google Search Scraper: best overall and best open source
NodeMaven Google Search Scraper is a completely free, open-source Google search scraper for Python. It runs a real Chrome browser through residential proxies and returns structured SERP data as JSON. The code is MIT licensed.

- Type: Open source, self-hosted
- Цена: Free code, proxies from $2.20/GB
- Cost per 1,000 pages: About $1
- Runs as: CLI, Python, HTTP API, MCP, Docker
What it returns
You get one JSON record per results page. The field names match the ones common to SERP APIs, so switching from a paid API usually takes minimal mapping.

- Organic results, ads, People Also Ask, related searches and pagination
- The AI Overview text on English results pages
- Map pack places on local queries, with rating, reviews, address, phone and opening hours
- A page_verdict label for every page, plus timings per step
- Which proxy IP served the page and how many bytes it cost
Honest failures, not fake empty results
NodeMaven Google Search Scraper classifies every page before it parses it. CAPTCHAs and blocks come back labeled. Pages with results for another query are caught, and the proxy IP serving them is dropped within a few pages. The check runs on the page already downloaded, so it costs no extra traffic.
Реальная стоимость
Each search uses about 0.4 MB of traffic on a warm proxy IP. On long runs the average is about 0.45 GB per 1,000 searches. At NodeMaven’s residential rate from $2.20/GB, that is about $1 per 1,000 result pages. Add –price-per-gb and every run summary prints your exact cost per 1,000 pages.
Плюсы
- Free and open source, no per-search fees
- About $1 per 1,000 result pages in proxy traffic
- Catches CAPTCHAs, blocks and wrong-query results
- AI Overview and map places included
- CLI, Python, HTTP API, MCP and Docker
- Works with any sticky residential proxy
Минусы
- Needs Python or the command line, not no-code
- First query takes a few minutes while the proxy IP warms up
- AI Overview parsed on English pages only
- Knowledge panels, shopping and images are not parsed
- You run and update it yourself
Лучше всего подходит для: developers, SEO teams with steady volume and AI agent builders who want full control over cost and data.
2. SerpApi: best hosted API for coverage
SerpApi is the best-known hosted Google search scraper API. You send a query and get parsed JSON back. It covers a very wide range of Google result types and many other search engines. Its documentation and playground are among the best in the market.

- Free plan: 250 searches/month
- Entry plan: $25 for 1,000 searches
- Volume: $275 for 30,000 searches
- Billing: Failed and cached searches free
The catch is price at low volume. The Starter plan works out to $25 per 1,000 searches. Larger plans drop to about $9 per 1,000, and the biggest go below $4. SerpApi is also the defendant in Google’s scraping lawsuit, which some legal teams will want to review.
Плюсы
- Very wide SERP feature coverage
- Excellent docs and playground
- No charge for failed searches
Минусы
- Expensive per search on small plans
- Monthly plans, unused searches do not roll over
- Named in an ongoing Google lawsuit
Лучше всего подходит для: products that need many Google result types from one reliable API.
3. Serper: best budget real-time API
Serper is a lean Google search API focused on speed and low price. It returns results in about 1 to 2 seconds and sells prepaid credit packs instead of monthly plans. New accounts get 2,500 free queries.

- Free: 2,500 queries once
- Entry: $50 for 50,000 credits
- Volume: About $0.30 per 1,000

Плюсы
- Fast responses
- Low price per query
- Generous free credits
Минусы
- Less SERP detail than SerpApi
- Credits expire after six months
- No official SDK
Лучше всего подходит для: apps and AI tools that need quick, cheap Google results.
4. DataForSEO: cheapest per page for bulk SEO data
DataForSEO is a pay-as-you-go data provider built for SEO tools. Its SERP API has three speeds. Standard queue costs $0.60 per 1,000 pages, Priority costs $1.20 and Live costs $2.00. Each page holds up to 10 results, and deeper pages are billed per extra 10.

- Free: $1 credit on signup
- Minimum: $50 deposit
- Standard: $0.60 per 1,000 pages
- AI Overview: Extra base price per page
If you can wait for queued results, nothing on this list is cheaper per page. Real-time Live mode costs more than Serper. AI Overviews need a separate parameter that doubles the price of that page.
Плюсы
- Lowest price per page in Standard mode
- Refunds when Google returns fewer results
- Huge range of SEO APIs beyond SERP
Минусы
- Cheapest mode is not real-time
- AI Overview costs extra

- Free: 5,000 requests/month
- Pay as you go: $1.50 per 1,000

- Billing: Successful requests only
Bright Data shines when volume is large and compliance reviews are strict. For a small project the dashboard and product range can feel heavy.

Минусы

- Free requests shared across products
- Pricier than Serper or DataForSEO at small scale
Лучше всего подходит для: enterprises that need volume, success-based billing and a large vendor.

Oxylabs moved its SERP scraping into its Web Scraper API. Google results are billed on that shared rate card. The Micro plan costs $49 a month at about $1.00 per 1,000 Google results without JavaScript rendering. Higher tiers drop to about $0.50 to $0.80.

ScraperAPI is a general scraping API with a structured Google search endpoint that returns JSON. It bills in credits. A Google search costs 25 credits, so the $49 Hobby plan with 100,000 credits covers about 4,000 searches. That is about $12 per 1,000 searches. On the $299 Business plan it drops to about $2.50.

- Пробный период: Free trial credits
- Entry: $49/month

- Free: Small monthly allowance

- Free plan has no cloud runs
Лучше всего подходит для: users who want one visual tool for Google and other websites.
DIY scraper vs SERP API: what 1,000 searches really cost
Plan prices hide the real number. So let’s run one realistic job through each tool. You track 1,000 keywords and want the top 30 results for each. Since Google removed num=100, that is 3 pages per keyword, or 3,000 result pages.
| Инструмент | How it bills | Cost for 3,000 pages |
| DataForSEO (Standard queue) | $0.60 per 1,000 pages | About $1.80, not real-time |
| NodeMaven Google Search Scraper | About 0.45 GB per 1,000 pages at $2.20/GB | About $3 |
| Serper | $1 per 1,000 on the $50 pack | $3 of credits, $50 minimum purchase |
| Bright Data | $1.50 per 1,000, pay as you go | About $4.50 |
| Apify | From $1.80 per 1,000 pages | From about $5.40 |
| Oxylabs | Monthly plan | $49 Micro plan minimum |
| ScraperAPI | 25 credits per search | $49 Hobby plan (75,000 credits) |
| СерпАПи | Monthly plan | $75 Developer plan (5,000 searches) |
Two things stand out. First, the cheapest raw price belongs to DataForSEO’s queued mode. If you need real-time results, NodeMaven Google Search Scraper and Serper sit at the same level, about $1 per 1,000 pages. Second, several hosted tools force a monthly minimum that costs far more than the job itself.

How to choose the best Google search scraper
Answer these five questions and the choice usually becomes obvious.
- Can you run a Python tool? If yes, start with NodeMaven Google Search Scraper. If no, look at Apify, Outscraper, Lobstr.io or Octoparse.
- Do you need results in real time? If you can wait minutes, DataForSEO Standard is the cheapest. If you need answers in seconds, choose a self-hosted scraper, Serper or SerpApi.
- Do you need AI Overviews or Maps? Pick a tool that renders JavaScript. NodeMaven Google Search Scraper, SerpApi, DataForSEO and Apify all return AI Overviews. Outscraper is the strongest for Maps.
- How much volume, and how steady? Steady volume favors self-hosting or volume plans. Spiky or small volume favors pay as you go.
- Is the data for an AI agent? Choose a tool with an MCP server, so the agent can search Google directly.
If you build your own scraper from scratch, the proxy layer matters most. See our tests of the лучшие прокси для веб-скрапинга.
Is it legal to scrape Google search results?
Scraping public search results is common practice for SEO tools, price trackers and researchers. It still comes with rules. Google’s terms of service restrict automated access. Data protection laws like GDPR apply if results contain personal data. Copyright can apply to some third-party content shown in search.
Зона Google vs SerpApi case is the most important recent test. Google sued SerpApi in December 2025. On July 21, 2026, a federal judge in California dismissed Google’s copyright claims over plain search results such as URLs and snippets. The judge found that these are not works protected by copyright.
Our advice is simple. Collect only the public data you need. Avoid personal data unless you have a lawful basis. Respect reasonable request rates. For commercial projects, ask a lawyer about your specific use and location.
